Palma is the capital of the island. It is a city that welcomes you and you will fall in love with it at first sight. It may be the streets, ancient monuments, the smile of the people, craft shops, the light, the ensaïmada or tapas, the terraces in summer and even in autumn and winter, the music and the musicians, the Cathedral and the nightlife in the old-town bars. There are thousands of things that you can fall in love with in this city. There are thousands of things that will you make go back to embrace it again.
Despite Palma being a small city, there are so many reasons to visit and so many activities it’s hard to know where to begin! We recommend perhaps taking a stroll through the streets of the old town, visiting La Seu (Palma Cathedral) or Bellver Castle, where you can enjoy some exceptional views over the Bay of Palma and the city below. You can also walk down the Rambla, buy a souvenir or two in one of the city’s many artesan boutiques, enjoy a delicious ensaïmada at Can Joan de S’aigo, visit some exhibitions and museums such as the Es Baluard, enjoy the sea views from the port or sample some of the local gastronomy and fresh produce from the Olivar and Santa Catalina markets.
Palma’s got it all! We recommend taking at least a day to visit the city.
